Recording Your Visuals with OBS or SYQEL Desktop

Recorded clips of your visuals are good for social posts, promos and set recaps. There are two ways to make them.

With OBS (web app)

OBS is free, and recording works just like streaming.

1. Capture SYQEL in OBS: Setting up the window source.
2. Add your music as an OBS audio source: Setting up OBS audio source.
3. Click Start Recording in OBS, and Stop Recording when you’re done.

OBS saves the file to the folder set in Settings › Output › Recording Path (usually your Videos or Movies folder).

With SYQEL Desktop’s Record

SYQEL Desktop records by itself, with no OBS needed.

1. Pick your audio source in the top bar and get the show looking right.
2. Press R or click Record. The button shows a running timer and the Output panel shows REC.
3. Press R again to stop.

One recording saves four videos at once, cropped for each platform: 16:9 (1920×1080), 1:1 (1080×1080), 9:16 (1080×1920) and 4:5 (1080×1350). The audio you’re passing through is included, along with your logo and marquee.

The files go to a SYQEL folder in Movies on a Mac or Videos on Windows. When a recording is saved, click Reveal in Finder in the message to open the folder.

On Free, the SYQEL logo is on your recordings. A subscription removes it and lets you show your own; see pricing.
