How to Use Your Online SYQEL Account as a Background for OBS

You can use SYQEL in your browser as a live background in OBS, with nothing to install but OBS.

1. Open vj.syqel.com and sign in. Your library loads from your account.
2. In the top bar, choose your audio source. In a browser SYQEL hears a microphone or audio input only. To visualize music playing on the computer, route it through a virtual device first (Creating a virtual audio input).
3. Press H to hide the controls, and go fullscreen if you like.
4. In OBS, under Sources, click + → Window Capture (on Mac, macOS Screen Capture set to a window) and choose the browser window running SYQEL.
5. Right-click the source → Transform → Fit to screen.

OBS won’t take sound from that window, so add your audio input to OBS as well: Setting up OBS audio source.

A cleaner option

SYQEL Desktop sends just the visuals to OBS over NDI (Mac and Windows) or Spout (Windows), and hears your music apps directly with App Audio. See Can I use SYQEL as a background for streaming?

On Free, the SYQEL logo is always on the visuals. A subscription removes it and lets you show your own logos; see pricing.
