How to Add SYQEL Desktop for Windows to OBS

SYQEL Desktop for Windows can send its visuals to OBS three ways. All three carry only the visuals, plus your logo and marquee, with no app controls.

You need SYQEL Desktop and OBS installed.

1. Give SYQEL your music

In SYQEL’s top bar, open the audio source list and pick what to react to:

• App Audio: followed by the app’s name — one app, such as your DJ software or Spotify (Windows 10 build 19041 or later).
• Your speakers or headphones — everything playing on that output.
• A microphone or audio interface.

2. Send the visuals to OBS

Option A: NDI (recommended)

1. Click NDI in SYQEL’s top bar. The Output panel shows LIVE.
2. In OBS, install the NDI plugin (DistroAV, formerly OBS-NDI) if you haven’t.
3. Under Sources, click + → NDI Source, and choose SYQEL Desktop.

NDI also reaches OBS on another computer on the same network.

Option B: Spout

1. Press B or click Broadcast. SYQEL opens the SYQEL Visuals window and publishes a Spout sender named SYQEL Desktop.
2. In OBS, add a Spout2 capture source (from the Spout plugin for OBS) and pick SYQEL Desktop. Resolume and other Spout apps see it directly.

Option C: Window capture

1. Click Broadcast. The SYQEL Visuals window opens.
2. In OBS, click + → Window Capture, and choose the SYQEL Visuals window.
3. Right-click the source → Transform → Fit to screen.

All three options use the SYQEL Visuals window. It keeps rendering behind other windows, and you can drag it to another screen, but closing it turns Broadcast and NDI off.

3. Audio in OBS

NDI and Spout carry video only. Add your music to OBS as its own audio source, the same device or app SYQEL listens to. See Setting up OBS audio source.

On Free, the SYQEL logo is always on the output. A subscription removes it and lets you show your own logo; see pricing.
